２・３時間目は中学２年生の調理実習です。２時間目にクッキーを作り、３時間目に日本の遊びを紹介しつつ、留学生との親交を深めました。この日は、授業参観日でもあったので、保護者の方も交えて楽しいひと時となりました。

Period 2&3

They joined cooking class. We made some cookies.

After making, we held a party, which their host family also joined.

Some Jissen students showed Japanese playing like Kendama and cat’s cradle.

４時間目は、フェアウェルセレモニーでした。中学生とリベラルアーツ＆サイエンスコースの２年生とで最後の時間を過ごしました。終了証の授与や本校生徒の出し物として、阿波踊りや日本舞踊を披露しました。また、留学生からはマオリ後の歌を教えてもらい、皆で歌いました。留学生のスピーチは、リベラルアーツ＆サイエンスコースの生徒が通訳するなど、各々の持ち味を生かした素晴らしい会となりました。

Period 4,

We held a farewell ceremony. We gave them a certification of completion. Our students showed some Japanese dances and NZ students sang a Maori song. And each of them made a speech, which was translated by our senior students. We all hope they enjoyed their time in Jissen.
