1月16日（土）授業2日目 今日は公民、国語、英語の授業に参加しました。 Saturday 16, January 2nd day at school
Today the New Zealand students joined Civics, Japanese, and English classes. They had a great time interacting with students, talking about New Zealand and Japan, and making new friends! Today they learned how to play Bouzumekuri, a traditional Japanese card game, with a middle school class. After today’s acitivites the New Zealand students are excited for next week!
Wednesday 20 January
The New Zealand students joined various classes and activities today such as Cooking, English, PE, Karate, Japanese calligraphy, History, Math, Science, and tea ceremony. They had the opportunity to make takoyaki with the cooking club, test out their karate skills, and for the very first time try their hand at Japanese calligraphy. They also got to participate in a real Japanese tea ceremony with the tea ceremony club after school. They are looking forward to tomorrow’s new experiences!
The NZ students and teacher joined the Cooking class of year 9, and they made Sushi!
Today was the New Zealand students’ final day at Jissen Gakuen. Their week long stay with us ended in a heartfelt closing ceremony that echoed the international cross cultural exchange this programme embodies. During the ceremony both the Jissen and New Zealand students performed traditional songs and dances representative of their respective cultures. Jissen students also sang the New Zealand national anthem. Everyone was sad to see the New Zealanders go, especially the students they befriended. We all hope that they have a safe journey home and that we can see them in Japan again someday!
